DIXON, Ill. - 
Marilyn Blue, age 73, of Dixon, Ill.,formerly of Durand, Mich., died
Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at her home. 

She was born Dec. 5, 1935, in Tipton, Mich., the daughter of Lyle and
Alice (Randall) Whelan. She had been an elementary school teacher in the
Atherton Community School District for 37 years and had served as a
union representative for the Atherton Education Association. She had
been a member of the Vernon United Methodist Church. 

She married Richard Blue on July 7, 1962, in Tipton, Mich. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Richard Lyle Blue; a
brother, Wesley Whelan; and a sister, Joan Starkey. 

She is survived by her husband of Dixon, Ill.; two daughters, Mary Blue
(Mark) Henneman of Hinsdale, Ill., and Denise (Mike Ytsen) Blue of Elk
Grove Village, Ill.; four grandchildren, and a sister, Linda Fox of
Tecumseh, Mich. 

A private family memorial service will be held on Wednesday Jan. 7,
2009, at the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon with the Rev. Michael Morrissey
officiating. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer
